PARAMPARAGAT KRISHI VIKAS YOJNA is an elaborated component of Soil Health Management (SHM) of major programme National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
Under PKVY, Organic farming is promoted through adoption of village by Cluster Approach and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification.

Organic Agriculture is production of agricultural products free from chemicals and pesticides residues by adopting eco-friendly low cost technologies. “PARAMPARAGAT KRISHI VIKAS YOJANA” is an elaborated component of Soil Health Management (SHM) of major programme National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA). Under PKVY, Organic farming is promoted through adoption of village by Cluster Approach and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification.
It is a Cluster based programme, Mobilization of Farmers- 50 or more farmers in a cluster of 50 acre land to take up the organic farming. In three years 10,000 clusters will be formed covering 5.0 lakh acre area and No liability on the farmers for expenditure on certification. The main approaches, to be adopted in the project are as following;

  • Use of Agril Inputs through traditional resources
  • Aims to target domestic market

Objective of the Training

The training was designed to make all participants aware about the project, its objectives and the role of all stakeholders, at village, block, and district level. At the end of the training programme, the participants have been able to understand;

  • Organic production by promoting Green manure
  • Methods of preparing Compost
  • Types, advantages of Compost
  • Use and application of Vermi compost
  • Use of Bio Fertilizer & Bio Pesticide

HELP Society has conducted trainings on Seedling/Nursery and organic seed production, Manure and compost production & Bio fertilizers and bio pesticides in more than 350 villages of Uttarakhand making the farmers in hills mor and more aware about the techniques of organic farming.
